Designing the Influence Trench was deeply personal. Growing up in the heat of Rockhampton, trench coats felt like something from another world—glimpsed only in magazines or movies. That changed when, at nine, I travelled around Australia with my parents. It was in Melbourne that I first saw women in elegant, cinched-at-the-waist coats—paired with boots and scarves, radiating confidence and timeless style.
That moment stayed with me.
Years later, when I launched Karen Gee, the Influence Trench became one of my first winter designs—an homage to that memory and a celebration of form, function, and elegance. Today, it remains one of our most loved pieces.
Now available in navy and black Ready to Wear, and recently released as a custom tweed design, Influence continues to evolve—just like the women who wear it.
